Having some type of identification or photo identification is essential in our current world. At some point, you'll have to verify your identity to apply for a home or job, get on a plane, open a bank account, enroll in a school, or even make certain purchases. For people who can't or don't want to drive, states offer an identification card that has the same security and identification features as a license, but doesn't extend to driving privileges. The cards can often be obtained from the same state agency that issues driver's licenses. The cards can also qualify as a REAL ID, D.
